Kiler Ridge Olive Farm
Gregg Bone (the miller) and Audrey Burnam (the farmer) are family owners of Kiler Ridge Olive Farm, located in the coastal hills of Paso Robles. Our passion is making small batch, fresh, robust and intensely flavorful extra virgin olive oils from seven different Italian olive varieties we grow on the farm. As small farmers and producers, we’re involved in every aspect of our olive oil business: orchard management, harvest, milling, bottling, filling on-line orders, and giving farm visitors tours and educational olive oil tasting experiences.
We joined the COOC in 2005, soon after we started planting our olive trees, and have been producing our certified and award-winning extra virgin olive oils since 2008. In 2010, we installed a modern milling facility on the farm, enabling us to consistently process our olive oil within 4 hours of harvesting the olives. Our milling facility also works closely with other California olive oil producers to custom mill their olives.
We became inspired to grow olives and make olive oil while on vacation in Italy — suddenly we understood that the quality of an olive oil makes all the difference when it comes to the flavor and enjoyment of food it’s prepared with. The quality of an olive oil is also important for its health benefits. As a consumer, it can be hard to know what you’re getting. We became members of the COOC because it sets high quality standards for “extra virgin” certification. We’re proud of the quality of our olive oils and our COOC certification.
